University Studies Started Abroad – Partial Validation (Convalidación parcial)

General Information:

Students who have started or completed university studies abroad, but have not obtained official recognition (homologación) of their degree in Spain, may apply for admission to a UCM Bachelor's Degree through partial validation of their previous studies.

Required documents:

  • Passport or identity document (DNI/NIE).

  • Official academic transcript.

  • Syllabus of each completed subject, including content and workload.

  • Official equivalence of average grades.

  • B2 Spanish language certificate, except for applicants from Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems.

Documents must be official, legalised and translated into Spanish, where applicable.

Application fee: €70 per application. The Faculty will provide payment instructions.

Requirements:

Admission requires:

  • Validation by UCM of at least 30 ECTS credits from previous studies.

  • Availability of places in the requested degree programme.

If applications exceed the available places, academic records will be assessed. Additional priority criteria apply to certain regulated health sciences degrees.

Not all UCM degree programmes offer places through this procedure.

Remarks:

  • A favourable decision allows enrolment in the academic year of admission or the following year.

  • Original documents or officially certified copies must be presented to the Faculty before enrolment.

  • Students who do not meet the requirements may consider other admission routes.
