Biblioteca Historica treasures an exceptional
collection of more than 13,000
books printed in the 16th century. Regarding its significance to
the
University, several copies of the ¨Biblia Poliglota Complutense
stand out.
Biblioteca Historica also preserves ancient translations of spanish
works that
can be hardly found in other spanish libraries, including our National
Library,
such as the german translation of ¨La Celestina¨ (Ausburg,1520) or
Yong's
English version of ¨Diana de Montemayor¨ (Londres, 1598). Also
significative are
several Plantin editions, works of scientists and many others. |
