Sheila Webber is Senior Lecturer in the Information School, University of Sheffield, where her key teaching and research interests are information literacy and learning. She teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and is the Director of the Centre for Information Literacy Research. Sheila also taught at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, and prior to that worked for the British Library, where her jobs included Head of the British Library Business Information Service. Sheila is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, and a member of the Standing Committee of the IFLA Information Literacy Section. Sheila is a frequent writer and speaker on information literacy, this year being invited to speak in Poland, Estonia and Canada. She also has presented and organised international events in the virtual world, Second Life.
