The Action Health Incorporated Resource Centre offers unique and specialised services for the empowerment of young women. The resource centre like the parent organization (AHI) is funded by different international organizations. The objective of the centre is to equip young people for life by giving them opportunities for training and employment.

This paper therefore examines the information needs of young women and how the resource centre is responding to these needs. It ascertains the effectiveness and impact of the services and programmes of the centre which help young women to acquire new skills. It also determines the adequacy and relevance of the content of the resources in the centre for young women empowerment. The challenges the centre face in empowering young women are also be identified.

The descriptive survey design is adopted for the study. Data for the study has been collected from the young women (users) and management/staff of the resource centre. Interview, observation and questionnaire are the research instruments. Data has been analysed using descriptive statistics.
