"Look, listen, learn: understanding people's information literacy"
by Sheila Webber
Before undertaking an information literacy initiative, it is important to understand your target population's context, and their own experience of information and information literacy. In this session, Sheila Webber will discuss some approaches used in qualitative research that can be valuable in taking an empathetic, receptive, respectful and inquiring approach to investigating your population. Sheila will ask participants to share their experiences of researching and responding to a specific population's needs, and to create plans for future engagement.
