Cognitive harvest: Importance of Information Competencies in LAC Women
by Jesús Lau
Women play the most important role in health, education and resource management at home, besides their economic role in whatever employment they may have in the socio-economic engine of their country in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), therefore, information skills are essential to empower them and foster a more powerful and equitable LAC society. In this talk, information literacy will be discussed in relation to the social and economic benefits in women from the point of view of the speaker, rather than based on studies on the subject that are limited if non-existent in the region.
